Note about Assignments

NOTE: I am trying to post all assignments here as an archive.  Most, if not all of these, assignments have been introduced when you read the connected material under Lecture Notes.

Grammar Diagnostic

Grammar and its Teaching: Challenging the Myth

After reading the lecture Grammar and its Teaching: Challenging the Myths, comment on it in Module One Discussion form following the guidelines given there. Try to complete this by Jan 13th.

What is Grammar Assignment Due Jan 18th.

1. Read chapter 1 What is grammar? and do the related tasks which are explained in the lecture by the same name. For this assignment, I am going to have you post it directly in the discussion link, What is Grammar.

How to Analyze a Grammar Point-Part of Speech Due Jan 21

I would like you to use your reference book to point out five things we should be familiar with about your assigned part of speech. Look in the lecture notes for specific information.

Why teach grammar? Due Jan 24

Read chapter two on why teach grammar and answer the assigned questions.  More information is available in the lecture notes by the same name.

Ellis article-Current Issues in the Teaching of Grammar: An SLA perspective Due Jan 27

Read the Ellis article-Current Issues in the Teaching of Grammar: An SLA perspective and comment on it.

NOTE: I would add assignments here as I made them, possibly using folders for each of the modules to keep the page from getting too long/cluttered.
